by Sakura of America
(Mar 1, 2006)
Glaze pens are perfect for rubber stamping because you can easily add dimension by just tracing outlines or by adding highlights with the raised ink. Since the colors are translucent, you can still see the details below the ink. Now adding color and embossing is all combined into one step Scrapbookers also love using Glaze pens to add texture to stickers & stationary more than ever now that hand-journaling has become an exciting rage in the industry. Handwriting expresses more individuality, personality & creativity than using standardized fonts & cut-outs. The simple extra touch of embossed lettering or designs on invitations or gift cards is made affordable by using Glaze pens instead of traditional thermography printing. ![]() Layout by Julia Sandvoss Glaze does require a longer drying time than most pens - about 2 minutes. It also performs best ( i.e. the most embossed effect ) on non-porous surfaces like iridescent Mylar®, vellum, ceramics, glass & plastics. You can also lay colors down next to each other and they'll pool together in swirls or you can actively mix them to create your own new colors. Glaze comes in fifteen glossy colors: orange, pink, purple, blue, yellow, red, rose, green, black, royal blue, hunter green, turquoise, grey, sepia and opaque white. There is also a "clear" glaze for creating a an embossed effect on pre-printed cards. Due to an overwhelming customer appeal for more colors, Sakura also released the SouffléTM series pens which have an opaque, pastel color palette. The best part about Glaze is that it has made a previously complicated & time consuming embossing technique to extremely easy. Most of all, the professional results in terms of color & texture make it totally worth your while.
