Creating Keepsakes 2002 Hall of Fame Review
by Andrea Steed
(Sep 10, 2002)
I recently had a chance to look through the Creating Keepsakes 2002 Hall of Fame book. If you’re looking for some inspiration to create unique, artsy, and elegant layouts using fantastic photos, this is a fabulous book. It showcases 25 top notch scrappers, some of whom are our scrapjazz members as well!
Each Hall of Famer has 6-7 fabulous layouts showcased and has shared some of their scrapbooking tips, confessions, and techniques. I loved reading about how each lady feels about their scrapbooking, and learning some of their favorite tips and supplies. And as an added bonus, CK has added 50 Honorable Mention layouts that are WELL worth the Hall of Fame title. I was extremely impressed with the quality of layouts. No wonder CK had such a hard time deciding on the 25 winners! The talent pool for this contest must have been UNREAL. There were likely 100 people that could have taken this title easily! Some specific things that stood out to me in the style of layouts in this book were the photography, the creative journaling, and the way each layout pulled at your emotions and senses, doing so much more than telling the who, what, where, when of an event. Whether I was admiring the crisp, clean graphic design by Krista Boivie, the detailed title work by Karen Burniston, the simple lines from Renee Camacho, the signature panoramic photos from Danelle Johnson, or the witty journaling by Erin Lincoln, I could not take my eyes off this book till I had been through it at least three or four times. Every page is an inspiration to take better photographs, document important aspects of life, and relish in scrapbook supplies! Purchase the Creating Keepsakes 2002 Hall of Fame book in our store.
