Gorgeous Papers from Moments Defined
by Moments Defined
(Dec 1, 2005)
![]() “We have a fun, techno-like appeal to the papers, not just your ordinary stripes and geometric designs – very abstract, yet the paper lines each have a few designs for everyone,” says Harris. “Some are little more wild; others have a softer tone to them. I am hoping that a wide audience of scrapbookers and crafters can find at least several of the patterns that they can use.” Although young, Harris is already well established in the scrapbooking industry. In 2001, she and her mother, Nancy Dalton, launched a retail business making custom-designed scrapbooks, which expanded into a monthly kit club. Six months ago, in an unusual twist on the “family-owned business” concept, Harris hired Dalton to manage the kit club while she pursues her work with Moments Defined and continues studies toward a degree in Business Management. As a scrapbooker herself, Harris knows what appeals to both new and experienced scrappers. For example, she has established a business relationship with leading cardstock manufacturer Bazzill Basics, which has enabled her to match Moments Defined’s products with co-ordinating colors of Bazzill’s solid-toned, textured cardstock. This will make it easier for scrapbook designers – including retailers preparing sample pages for display – to pick the right products to use with each of Moments Defined’s products. The strong appeal of Moments Defined’s products is evident in the make-up of Harris’s nine-member design team, whom she hand-picked from over 500 applicants. The team includes winners of the Creating Keepsakes Hall of Fame and Memory Makers Masters contests and a contributing editor for PaperKuts, and all nine of the designers have extensive publishing credentials. ![]() While Harris is eager to see her venture succeed; her primary focus is on helping scrapbookers preserve key events in fresh, artistic ways. “Life is full of defining moments,” says Harris. “Some are huge, life-changing events, while others are the fantastic moments that occur every day. Scrapbookers try to preserve these moments through their creative projects, and my hope is that we have created fun, colourful patterns and products that will help scrapbookers define the moments that are important to them.” For more information, contact: |
