Heidi Swapp Products

by Andrea Steed (May 31, 2005)

Heidi Swapp has been on the cutting edge of the scrapbooking industry for several years, providing us with all kinds of new ideas and techniques to try. She’s been known to decorate her pages with off-the-wall items, get messy with paint, and think outside the box to bring her immense creativity to life in her scrapbook pages. Heidi has a distinct scrapbooking style that scrapbookers everywhere have grown to love. It seems no matter what she does, she leaves us begging for more.

With that kind of popularity and talent, it’s only fitting that she recently introduced her own line of products.

There’s something about the combination of black and pink in her packaging that makes me feel good. It’s girly, trendy, funky, and fun. Combine that with the signature “Heidi Swapp” font and I’m completely convinced that by using these products I can be a “cool scrapbooker” too! If I’m that excited about the packaging and logo, imagine how much I enjoyed the actual products.

I received a fabulous assortment of some of the new products and couldn’t wait to dig in. Beware of alphabet hoarding, rub-on addictions, and chipboard obsessions as you take a look at the great items Heidi offers:

Chipboard Shapes – Lightweight and dimensional, chipboard shapes are a perfect embellishment to give your page a little bit of depth and color. Available in ten shapes and a variety of colors, they are designed to coordinate with the entire Heidi Swapp product line. Great as-is or in an altered state, try sanding, trimming, painting, and layering them for varied looks. They are also the perfect base for rub-on letters and titles.

Chipboard Alphabet – This “Schizophrenic” chipboard alphabet combines several fonts for a funky look. Use the positive and the negative for your titles. After you’ve used a letter, use the chipboard frame as a tracing template for even more letters. They are available in five fun colors: Cotton Candy, Icee, Jet, Lilac, and Martha.

Chipboard Themes – This grouping of words, frames, corners and phrases will complete several scrapbook pages with ease and style. Each theme sheet contains two words, two frames, four printed word blocks, one label holder and four photo corners and are available in 12 versatile themes: birthday, boy, Christmas, family, girl, Halloween, love, school, sports, summer, travel and winter.

Chipboard Mega Letters – These are perfect for monograms, titles and all sorts of fun embellishments. Available in two sizes (mega and regular), and four colors, these letters can be used in both their positive and negative form. Decorate them with paint, patterned paper, ribbon, or rub-ons for a personalized look and feel.

Chipboard Kits – Rub-on letters, a set of chipboard shapes, sandpaper and a rub-on application tool makes these chipboard kits a perfect set. Create titles, monograms and embellishments easily with all of the tools in one little kit.

Rub-on Transfer Letters – Stored in a cute little folder that keeps them clean and protected, these rub-on alphabets incorporate several of each letter in both upper- and lowercase. They also include numbers and characters for a complete set. Seven styles ranging from formal to funky and a rainbow of 13 colors bring variety and fun to the line. Included with each rub-on set is a precision-tipped tool to make applying each letter easier.

Scrapbook Scenery Rub-ons – Rub-ons aren’t just for alphabets anymore. These scenery images include borders, corners, frames and icons. Twelve different designs and vibrant fun colors work together to bring you the perfect designs for whatever your mood or need.

Ghost Letters – Three colors of Ghost Letters made from transparent acetate are a unique way to add lettering to your page. Two font choices in either upper- or lowercase offer a sleek simple design or a more traditional typeface with a funky edge. Creatively attach them with brads, eyelets, staples, ribbon, clips or a sewing machine.

Decorative Tape – Striped, Solid and Themed, these ribbon tape sets include five coordinating designs in each package. The designs are varying widths and include fun color combinations so that each strip can be used together with the others or as a separate embellishment. Use them to create borders, frames, and embellishments. You can even alter them by stamping, sanding, layering or cutting them to fit your page design. Solids are available in six color palettes, Stripes in an additional six color palettes, and Themes in twelve different sets. Each set includes a dispenser with three yards each of five tapes.

Photo Corner Attachments – Photo corner attachments in several of Heidi’s favorite color schemes make attaching pictures and memorabilia easy. Sturdy backing on each photo corner means that you can confidently place your photograph or other item within the corners and know that the item will stay put, while still being removable and remaining undamaged. Each package contains 20 corners in each of three colors.

Jewels – The perfect finishing touch, these tiny little self-adhesive jewels are what make your page sparkle and shine. Self-contained in a cute little matchbook, they could become your favorite new embellishment!

This list is a far cry from the entire line of Heidi Swapp products. She also carries albums, ribbon, brads, eyelets, chipboard frame sets, plastic letters, iron-on alphabets, foam stamps, paint and mask templates to name a few.
