The Designer's Library by Lana

The Designer’s Library by Lana is a company full of ideas that has been introducing unique products to the scrapbooking industry. Owner Lana Rickabaugh provides you with a blueprint for the perfect layout idea, as well as the coordinating products to help you create it. Her products help get you started, but leave just enough room for your creativity to shine through and portray your own style and flair on each page. Blueprint Library System
These portable sketch cards are a wonderful way to spark ideas for any layout or greeting card. Each sketch (called a blueprint) is the foundation for a great layout. Divided into color-coded cards, each blueprint gives layout ideas for horizontal photos (green), vertical photos (blue), and mixed orientation photos (pink). You can mix and match the cards to create one- or two-page designs that fit the photos you have on hand.

In addition to the sketch, each card is numbered for easy reference and includes tips from Lana about how to create that design. Choose from the Starter Deck, Blank Canvas Deck and the Cards and Greetings Deck. The Starter Deck includes 45 layout blueprints in all three color-coded orientations. The Blank Canvas Deck includes 5 blank cards in each color for you to add your own sketches. The Cards and Greetings Deck includes 20 creative card designs filled with tips, titles and even great quotes to use on greeting cards.

The cards are small and portable, making them a great tool to take along to crops. They can be stored in the clear storage case in which they are packaged, or you can purchase the custom Binder System. The binder, wrapped with a fun blue polka-dotted ribbon, includes 9 protector sheets and will protect up to 81 cards from wear and tear. Also featured in this system are indexes which will help you sort your cards and keep them categorized.

Tinting
The entire line of tinted products are hand tinted by Lana herself. The tinting process creates an aged look, which consists of warping, spots and patterns on each item. These monochromatic pieces include a variety of textures and products that mix and match to coordinate a beautiful page.

• Tag Tints – These beautiful handmade tags are available in a wide variety of colors to bring color and excitement to your pages. Tags are available in both large and small sizes.


• Tinted Envies – Envies are a great place to hide journaling, add extra photos or hold an interesting tag. Each package contains three envies.


• Paper Tints – Hand-tinted 12” x 12” papers make the perfect foundation for a layout.


• Tinted Twine - The perfect accent for your layouts, cards and tags, the twine coordinates with the other hand-tinted products and adds softness and texture to the page. Each bundle includes 1 ½ yards of twine.

• Tinted Pockets – Originally used to hold library cards, now that they’ve been hand-tinted, these little pockets are a great place to put extra photos, journaling, or a personal letter. Each pocket is 3 1/2" x 5". Each package includes two pockets.


• Typeface Tints – These are unique fonts printed on heavy-weight cardstock that have been tinted to match the rest of the line. The alphabets are easy to cut apart with scissors, a paper trimmer or punches.

Faux Finishes
Faux Finishes are designs inspired by paint chips and postage--with a twist. These pieces are similar to real paint chips, but instead of a sample of paint, they feature the textures and colors of the Designer’s Library papers and tags as well as other fun images. They’re perfect for page accents, altered books and greeting cards.

Each package of Faux Finishes Chips include two designs; one faux paint chip with themed color names and one matching faux chip with a printed quote over the blocks of color. The Faux Postage sheets include 20 mini stamps with prices and words befitting the theme of the stamps. Faux Finishes are available in a variety of themes with additional releases coming soon.

Clearly Envies
Clearly Envies are teeny tiny transparent colored envies with a built-in sealing strip. These envies are the perfect size to hold personal journaling or a piece of memorabilia or even a snip of hair. Try putting a small black and white photo inside to create an artistic look at the photo! Each envie is 2" x 2".

Bits and Bats
Bits and Bats are fun limited-time offer products such as twill, slide mounts, art mesh, and more. Lana purchases items that she loves, but may not have enough inventory to carry forever. For those lucky customers that get a hold of them first, the Bits and Bats area is a great place to find new products to try out.

Custom Kits
Frequently, The Designer's Library by Lana releases a unique pre-coordinated layout kit. As a special bonus, the custom kits also feature an exclusive product that you can only get by purchasing the kit. Kits include a variety of products including selections from the following: tinted papers, tags, envies, Faux Finishes, as well as the Blueprints and various Bits and Bats.
