Little Black Dress Designs
Little Black Dress Designs has got you covered from head to toe with the supplies you need to create dazzling embellished scrapbook pages. From their Foundations and Unbuttons to the Fastenations and Sticky Situations, their coordinating products work together to help you design a scrapbook page that’s as classic and versatile as the little black dress in your closet.
Foundations
Foundations packages include three 12 x 12 sheets of die cut tags using Bazzill monochromatic cardstock. Most of the tags are designed to be layered but they can also be used alone. For even more versatility, they’ve left a large section of each sheet un-cut to allow you to use it to make a color-coordinating card, mat, journaling block, or page title. The leftover cardstock is also great for tracing and cutting another tag or letters of the alphabet. There are 52 tags in each Foundations package as well as round and square reinforcers to add to the layered tag look.
Unbuttons
When is a button not really a button? When it's an Unbutton! These buttons without holes are wonderful little shaped tiles that can be used to create all sorts of embellishments. You can use stamps, chalks, inks, and permanent ink pens to decorate and customize Unbuttons. Each package includes a single shape in four monochromatic colors ranging from light to dark. The two lighter colors are a bit smaller than the two darker colors which make them great for stacking. Choose from flowers, rounds, hearts or squares in 10 different colors. Unbuttons can be adhered with Little Black Dress Designs Sticky Situations adhesives.
Funny Fibers
Little Black Dress designs have three variations of fun fibers: Loosie Fibers, Funky Mohair, and Lip Smackin Ribbon.
Loosie Fibers are iridescent micro-fibers that sparkle when light bounces off of them. Their iridescence is what gives the fiber its lively "color in motion" quality. The effect can be like watching light dance off the surface of water. In addition to using Sticky Situations tape to adhere Loosie Fibers to your page, they can also be heat-bonded for a completely different look. The Little Black Dress Designs web site offers some great tips for heat bonding the Loosie Fibers.
Funky Mohair fiber cards include two yards each of three different coordinating fibers. Each card includes straight, fuzzy, and curly fibers to bring textural variety to your pages.
Lip Smackin' Ribbons are 100% cotton ribbon in beautiful patterned designs. Each card comes with two yards each of four different ribbon styles in coordinating colors. Lip Smackin’ Ribbons are made using a unique process of immersing a continuous length of thread in a water-based adhesive and then tightly drawing the threads together to form this extraordinary cotton ribbon. Reactivate the adhesive with a glue stick or a light dab of water. You can write on it, stamp on it, emboss it, iron it, curl it, crimp it, crease it, shred it, or run it through your printer to make unique embellishments and borders for your pages.
Rockettes
Rockettes are plastic crystal jewels in lots of fun colors. Whether you use them as-is, or melt them to create one-of-a-kind designs, the possibilities are endless. To change their shape, use a One Hot Mama non-stick sheet (available in the Little Black Dress Designs accessories section) and melt the Rockettes with an embossing gun or in a hot oven. Rockettes can be adhered to your pages with Wet Looks or Sticky Situations tape. For tips on melting Rockettes to create unique designs, visit the Little Black Dress Designs web site.
Alterations
To try out a variety of Little Black Dress Designs products, you might want to start with an Alterations package. These color-coordinated inspiration packs are full of fibers, Un-buttons, charms, ribbons, Vintage Lines, and more!
Vintage Lines
Take a step back to a bygone era. Inspired by the art of the 1950s, these timeless characters will add style and grace to those photos that are faded and worn. Cut out individual characters, groupings, or mix and match your own. Printed on a special film, the permanent black outlines will not smudge when you add color. For a subtle, muted tone, add color on the back side of the film with your paints, pens, or pencils. For a bolder look, add color to the front. The best part is, if you don't like the result, you can take out an eraser and start all over.
Accessories
Slips – Available as 8” x 10 ˝” or 12” x 12” sheets, slips don't show fingerprints and have a muted-milky look. They’re printable and stampable and even better than vellum.
Slippers - Slippers are small envelopes made of the same material as slips and are what the post office and stamp collectors use to store and archive their collectible postage stamps.
Makeup - Little Black Dress Designs “Makeup” includes the tools you need to really dress up your pages: ink sticks, a ceramic mixing pot, and applicators for your chalks and paints.
Flitters – You can gild just about anything with Flitters (real gold and silver leaf bits) and some Sticky Situations adhesive.
One Hot Mama - One Hot Mama sheets are non-stick, heat-resistant, food-grade 12” x 12” craft sheets. Use two to sandwich the fusible Loosie fibers for easier melting.
Fastenations
Fastenations are the newest and most versatile brads you could ever imagine. They come in brass, chrome, and copper and are just waiting for you to personalize them with any color you choose! Use a basic 1/8" hole punch to punch out your favorite color of cardstock or vellum. Place a dot of adhesive into the recessed center of the brad and insert the paper dot. Create a 3-D jewel-like appearance with a dab of Wet Looks adhesive on top.
Sticky Situations
In addition to all these great embellishments, Little Black Dress Designs also provides you with adhesives to make using them a breeze. Sticky Situations Tape, Wet Looks liquid adhesive and Totally Tacky glue are great ways to stick your stuff!
Sticky Situations Tape is clear, double-sided tape that works great with Loosie Fibers, Unbuttons and Rockettes.
Wet Looks dries to a clear glass-like finish and is great for using with vellum, acrylics, beads, and more. Apply with the full-figured bottle to create a thick layer to add dimension to your project. You can also try adding a layer to a round sticker to create a 3-D button!
Totally Tacky glue can be used for all sorts of projects. You can even use it with your un-mounted stamps. Try a dab on your project and a dab on the item you're sticking down, wait 30 seconds and stick it together for a strong bond. Totally Tacky glue is great for highly textured paper like Bazzill.
