Product Review: BasicGrey Take Note Journaling Transparencies

by Rachel Myerson (Feb 26, 2010)

1_09When I first noticed the BasicGrey Take Note Journaling Transparencies, I wasn't exactly sure what they were. Since I love most products from BasicGrey and I always want to try new scrapbooking products, I decided to order a pack. Of course, I was not disappointed.

Since I was ordering a few papers from the Indian Summer collection, I started with the Indian Summer Journaling Transparencies.  Each pack contains eight pieces: four journaling cards and four transparencies. Each journaling card is of a different design and one transparency matches each journaling card. The transparencies are the same size and shape as the cards and contain an appropriate design to put over journaling. I was pleased with the variety of designs as I don't like to repeat elements over and over again on my scrapbook pages.

Although the journaling cards and transparencies go perfectly together; they don't actually need to be used together. I used the transparency alone in this layout over journaling that I wrote on the background. I overlapped the transparency over one of my photos such that a leaf overlaps the photo.  The transparencies can also be used over photos, as embellishments, or many other ways.

The Take Note Journaling Transparencies are available to match a variety of other BasicGrey collections including: Eskimo Kisses, Eerie, Nook and Pantry, June Bug, and Lemonade.

Next time you are ordering some products from BasicGrey, consider adding a pack of the Take Note Journaling Transparencies to your cart. I think you will find that there are many ways to use them and that they will be a fun enhancement to your scrapbook pages.
