Xyron Solutions Binding Strips and Transfer Sheets
As a part of the Xyron Solutions adhesive line, released in the Spring 2003, Xyron introduces Self Adhesive Binding Strips and Adhesive Dot Transfer Sheets. The Self Adhesive Binding Strips are 11 1/2 long and fit into scrapbooks, photo albums and ring binders. Each strip includes many holes to assure a perfect fit into many different scrapbooks. Simply attach the clear adhesive to the paper or project and use the pre-cut holes to insert the page into your book. These are especially nice for objects that are slightly larger than your page protector, interactive pages, and other projects that you dont want covered with a page protector.
Lynn McCorry, a Scrapjazz Design Team member has some great ideas for using the Xyron Solutions Self Adhesive Binding Strips:
- Include laminated school class photos in your layouts by attaching the photo to a binding strip and placing it between the school layouts. Here in Australia, our school class portraits come laminated and they are just a tiny bit too big to fit on an 8 ½ x 11 page. The strips would be perfect for fitting them between the pages of a layout.
- Make a little handmade album. You can cut the strips in half, attach them to the pages and then use threads through the holes of the strips to hold the album together.
- Attach them to your child's artwork and place it in your album without having to make a layout for the artwork.
- Use them to attach interactive pages to your albums.
- Make a calendar. Use the strips along the top of the calendar pages (landscape). You can bind the calendar using string, fibres, sewing etc.
- Add extra photos to your layout. Mat photos individually onto cardstock, attach some of the binding strips to the top or side of each of the photos and tie together. Add this little flipper to your layout.
- Keep memorabilia such as cards, brochures, movie tickets, catalogs from travels, postcards, and newspaper/magazine articles on a strip to allow more space for pictures and the layout.
- Organize your scrapbook magazines in a three ring binder. The strips are strong enough to hold magazines.
Adhesive Dot Transfer Sheets are another great adhesive product. These small sheets of adhesive are wonderful for adhering die cuts, alphabets, or other small items with odd shapes. They create instant stickers. Peel back the top layer of film and lay your die cut face up on the bottom layer. Press the top layer back down to evenly spread the adhesive all over the back of the die cut. Peel back the top layer again, and pick up the die cut off of the bottom layer of adhesive. Your die cut will have adhesive dots on the backside and can be permanently adhered to your layout.
Other uses for Adhesive Dot Transfer Sheets:
- Alphabet die cuts especially the minis!
- Intricate die cuts with thin edges
- Adhering ribbon, raffia, or fabric
- Printed vellum die cuts
