ABC Storage

by Andrea Steed (Apr 2, 2008)

When alphabet embellishments became more and more popular, I quickly realized I needed a convenient way to organize them. When I stored them by brand, I noticed that I had no idea what letters I had left, and would get frustrated when I couldn't spell out the words I needed. Finally, one day I'd had enough and I decided that it was more important for me to know what letters I had than it was to have all the same type of alphabet embellishments together.

I headed to the hardware store and picked up a set of organization drawers. Then I sacrificed a sheet of alphabet stickers to label each drawer with a letter of the alphabet and all of the numbers (combining ‘6' and ‘9' into one drawer). I quickly started opening all my packages of embellishments and got to sorting.

2_68It didn't take long and now I have all the letters at my fingertips. I never have to wonder if I have the right letters; I can just quickly look. I also found that I'm much more likely to combine styles of alphabet embellishments if I don't have the letters I need in one particular style. Not only does it look great, it also helps me use up all the extra letters that I always seem to have left over from my favorite styles.
