Product Review: Cricut Cartridge Storage

by Denise Gormish (Mar 5, 2010)

1_20After purchasing a few Cricut cartridges it became imperative to find a way to store them. I needed a sturdy, neat, space-saving device for the cartridges. I saw the Cricut cartridge storage box and decided to give it a try.

The 7 1/2"  x 8 1/4" x 4" box comes in blue or orange and the box is designed to fit eight cartridges. The cartridges are held in place by two plastic trays. Each tray holds four cartridges. The trays fit into the box with room on top to store the cartridge keypad covers. Also included with the box are labels for labeling the contents. They can be affixed to the side of the box. Extra labels are included.

The box opens up horizontally with a tray on each side. When it is closed magnets hold it closed. The magnets seem to work well. The box, though, is made of cardboard and doesn't feel extremely sturdy especially along the spine. I did not have any problems but durability remains a question.

The plastic trays inside the box hold the cartridges securely in place. The eight cartridges fit inside well. The keypad covers rest on top just fine. The box closed well even when full. The box will hold the cartridges neatly and the labeling system for the outside of the box keeps the items well organized.

The box does save on space. It will store eight cartridges and keypad covers in a small space. The disadvantage to the Circuit storage box is that the handbooks do not fit inside the storage boxes. They must be stored elsewhere.

I would recommend these boxes for anyone with several Cricut cartridges, especially if you need to save space.
