Labeling Items in Your Scrap Space
Perhaps you have organized a few things in your scrap space but how do you label them? Are your drawers see-through so that you do not have to label the drawer or are they solid drawers and you do not know what is inside? How do you label things inside your drawers? Here are a few ways I keep things labeled and organized. I hope these suggestions will help you. Favorite Labeling Tools First, here are my favorite labeling tools: - Brother Labeler
- Dymo Labeler
- jute
- key tags
- manufacturer packaging
These are the items I use most when labeling things in my scrap space. You can pick up the labelers and key tags from most office supply stores. The jute is available in most craft stores. Labeling Drawers and Bins My favorite way to label my drawers is with a piece of jute and a key tag. I usually just write on the key tag but you can also get creative and dress them up by adding patterned paperand then writing on it. I then tie the tag to the drawer handle. You should be able to do this with any drawer handles that you may have in your room. I use this same method to label my ribbon jars. You can also use a labeler to label plastic drawers or other containers. I use my Brother Labeler to label Maya Road tins and my plastic storage cases that I use for my Unity Stamp Co. stamps. Labeling Items in Drawers I organize a lot of my supplies by manufacturer. One way I can keep track of the manufacturer name is to cut part of the packaging and to keep it with my product. Sometimes I will actually glue a piece of packaging to a chipboard divider like this: Sometimes I will put a piece of packaging in my containers, like this: I even put a piece of the packaging into my jars, like this: I also use my Brother Labeler to label clear bags that contain some of my favorite products. I store them in a Cropper Hopper Paper Holder after they are labeled. I hope that these labeling solutions will help you organize your space so that you are able to find your products more effectively. Most of all, have fun. Organizing can be a lot of work but it is so worth the effort. Happy organizing!
