It’s A Wrap! Use Your Scrapbooking Supplies to Wrap Presents
If you’re looking for a unique way to add a personal touch to your holiday gift-giving this season, look no further than your scrapbooking and stamping supplies. Handmade wrapping paper and gift tags are easy to make and show gift recipients that you put your heart into their presents.
Wrapping Paper
- If you are wrapping a very small gift, like a piece of jewelry, you can simply use a piece of holiday-themed patterned scrapbook paper as wrapping paper and embellish with some fibers or pretty ribbon.
- For larger packages, purchase white or off-white wrapping paper from your craft store, rubber-stamping consultant, or scrapbook store. Cut the paper to size. Use holiday-themed stamps and colors to create a random pattern for your own wrapping paper design. The wheel-type stamps are especially good for this project as are alphabet stamps (spell out JOY, PEACE or another holiday message).
- Purchase plain solid-color gift bags and decorate them as above with rubber stamps or use your patterned scrapbook papers, stickers, etc. to create a more dimensional look.
- Stamp directly on plain gift boxes.
Gift Tags
- Use a tag-shaped punch, die-cut machine, or Coluzzle to cut your tags in the desired size and shape.
- Decorate the tags as you would tags for your scrapbook, being sure to indicate who the gift is “to” and “from” with a rubber stamp, rub-ons, or your handwriting.
- Be sure the gift tag coordinates with your handmade or store-bought wrapping paper.
Gift Cans
- Another clever way to “wrap” a holiday gift is to create a gift can using an empty one-gallon paint can. See (link) this article for instructions. Cans are great for cookies, candies, fudge and other holiday goodies.
Wrapping presents doesn’t have to be another boring chore on your holiday to-do list …get creative this year!
