A Gift for Mom

by Andrea Steed (May 14, 2004)

One of the great things about Moms is that they are so proud of anything a child creates for them--even if the child is an adult and has their own kids. My own mother keeps a box full of handmade cards that I make her and she frames scrapbook pages that I create for her to show them off regularly!

Photographs are special to people, and mothers are no exception. The photos trigger memories and capture special moments forever. For a mother who watches her children grow up so quickly, it's nice to freeze a few of those moments in an album for them to remember. It's also a great way to say thank you and show appreciation for a lifetime of devotion that can't be repaid.

Below are some gift ideas to celebrate Mom and make her feel extra special this Mother's day:

  • Create a small tag book or accordion-style mini-album with photos and quotes about mothers.

  • Make a shadow box with photos and items that represent motherhood or the relationship you have with your mother.

  • Create a special handmade card designed especially with your mom in mind.

  • Moms love brag books. Create a small brag book for her to carry in her purse with photos of her children, grandchildren, and favorite things.

  • If you're the mom, don't be shy! Ask your kids to create a small trinket or write a short note to you on mother's day. Then include it in a scrapbook page about the day.
