5 Beautiful Bookmarks with Your Scrapbook Supplies
My grandmother's influence can be credited with my desire to have an interesting bookmark to mark my place in whatever book I'm reading. She has a collection of over 700 bookmarks that she's accumulated from all over the world. She buys them, friends give them to her, people make them for her or she picks them up for free in various places.
Since I started scrapbooking, buying a bookmark seems absurd. I have so many fun papers, materials and embellishments in my scrapbook supplies that there's no reason I can't make my own one-of-a-kind bookmarks. Here are a few I made with supplies I had on hand:

Photograph & Ribbon There's nothing better than a smiling face looking at you while you read your book. That's why I love making these photograph bookmarks. They make great gifts for grandparents! You can leave them as-is or make them more durable by laminating or coating with Mod Podge.
Supplies: Paint Chip & Fibers I made this paint-chip bookmark by simply cutting a border along each side, threading fibers through the holes in the border and adding a flourish rub-on.

Supplies: Origami Corner This low-profile origami bookmark is easy to make and looks great! I used a patterned vellum paper to create mine and added a ribbon border. Just be sure to use thin paper or it can become too bulky.

Supplies: - 4" x 4" square of patterned paper or vellum
- 2" of ribbon
Ribbon, Flowers & Brads I love this ribbon bookmark with flowered edges. To attach the flowers, I simply folded the ribbon over to create a finished edge, and attached the flower with a large brad through the ribbon. The rub-on sentiment added the perfect finishing touch.

Supplies: Paper Clip & Button For my last bookmark, I took a large paper clip and added ribbon and a button to create a fun topper. Instead of a button, you could also use chipboard, gems, or metal embellishments to create your own unique design.

Supplies: It takes little time, and is so easy to create your own bookmarks. They make fantastic gifts for grandparents and teachers especially!
