Featured Scrapbook Blog: Hero Arts

by Julia Sandvoss (Aug 12, 2009)

1_348Would I sound biased to you if I declared that I love the Hero Arts Blog? Yes...love!  I feel Hero Arts is doing quite a fantastic job with their blog and here's why:

Daily Weekday Posts! They post every weekday and I love their catch-up day on Saturday with peeks of inspiration that occurred during the week. That makes six wonderful days of ideas, inspiration, tips, videos and more!

Did I say videos?! Hero Arts has  one of the few blogs that include videos in their posts. These videos provide tips and techniques for a variety of stamping-related topics, including Copic markers tutorials, incorporating die cuts with stamping, background stamping and many more. I love that they take the time to include the videos. I've often remarked how visual I am and having a video to watch step-by-step instruction is immeasurable to me!

Giveaways! I'm not sure I need to elaborate on this, other than to say they have a lot, give a lot and do a lot. No kidding! Their most recent sponsor was with QuicKutz who gave not only their brand new Silhouette SD Die cut System but a great amount of other goodies that would make many a crafter swoon.  I know I did! It's nice to know a company is willing to go the extra mile and offer goodies and chances to win.

Challenges galore! I'm one of those crafters who sometimes need that extra kick in the pants. Sometimes a good challenge helps get those creative vibes back on track. If you enjoy a challenge, Hero Arts blog is perfect for you too.  They've issued a daily challenge to work with two complementary colors.  There are rewards for those that participate. So not only do they offer you a challenge to inspire but some wonderful goodies to go along with that. How fun is that?!

Cards cards and more! If you're a card maker or stamper you'll find ideas for everything and then some. They do include ideas for layouts, but that is definitely not what they are known for. Cards take the cake and after seeing the ideas they share, I can see why!

You're Talented!   I love that they take a very fun approach and invite the readers to join in and share their work with them. Then they take that submitted work and turn right around and share that work on the blog.  There are so many scrappers, crafters and card makers out there and sometimes it's overwhelming to think you might be able to catch  someone's eye. This is perfect!

The blog also provides links to the official Hero Arts site and store, as well as more information for techniques and tips. .They also have a layout gallery  that is easy to access from the blog to see many more ideas all in one handy viewing spot.

Hero Arts is definitely one of my favorite blogs! I could spend all day on their site.  They've definitely got me hooked.
