Karen Baxter
Originally from Maryland, Karen now lives, writes, crops, stamps and otherwise creates on the sunny Gulf Coast of Florida. A lifelong crafter, she began scrapbooking in 2001 after the birth of her daughter and discovered stamping in 2005 at an in-home workshop. She became a demonstrator for a leading rubber stamping company in 2007 to help pay for her addiction/hobby. Karen's two children, Carsyn, 7, and Kyle, 4, and her husband, Eric, are the subjects of most of her scrapbook pages, which tend to be clean and simple in design with rich journaling. Karen's educational and professional background includes a master's degree in graphic design and 14 years in journalism and public relations. She was a contributing writer for a Mobil travel guidebook and has been published in numerous magazines, newspapers and websites. In addition to scrapbooking, Karen also enjoys making cards and giving handmade gifts. Her other interests include photography, collecting all things cupcake, baking (cupcakes, of course!), relaxing by the pool, and hunting for seashells at nearby beaches. She has been a Scrapjazz contributing writer since 2005. |
