I've always been known by friends a family as being "craft-y," so it wasn't a surprise to anyone when scrapbooking became one of my passions.

I've collected memorabilia, receipts, ticket stubs and pretty stickers for as long as I can remember, putting them all in an album or storing them in shoeboxes, but it wasn't until 2005 that I tried my hand at officially scrapbooking. It wasn't until the next year, however, that I became obsessed. When my son was born, my husband's aunt - an avid scrapper - gave me scrapbook supplies as a baby shower gift so I could do my son's first year album. I whizzed through the 12 pre-made pages she gave me and couldn't get enough of it.

My favourite subject for scrapbooking is my son, Robbie, now four, and I like to think of my style as clean and simple, but not boring. I enjoy finding creative ways to tell the story of my photos and admit to a small obsession with stickles.

In addition to being a contributing writer for Scrapjazz, I'm a working journalist - this opportunity allows me to combine my passions of scrapping and writing.
