Danette Schellhous (retired)
Hi! My name is Danette Schellhous. At 25 years old, I am a mother of two adorable (if I do say so myself) little boys. Staying home and taking care of them is my full time job. A friend introduced me to scrapbooking shortly after I married my sweetheart, Ryan, in December of 2001. While I have always been an obsessive organizational freak about anything and everything, including my pictures, scrapbooking opened up a whole new facet of this compulsion- organizing while creating. I wouldn't say that I've always had a creative eye. In high school I was introduced to card making and stamping and I just did not have the patience for it. Eight years later it is laughable to think there was ever a time I didn't have a daily urge to sit and create. In four years of scrapbooking my family's memories, I've experimented with different techniques and styles- trying to find my own little niche while still using the many products I love. I tend to gravitate toward simple, clean lines that enhance my pictures and I try to have titles and journaling that really tell the story and the emotions behind the photo. In addition to scrapbooking, I also love to run, cook, talk with friends and family, and I'm trying to get back into reading, although with a never-ending pile of pictures to scrap that isn't going very well. I am so grateful to be part of this Blue Crew Team. I am amazed that I can be part of this wonderfully talented group of women. I hope that my work will in some way inspire others as I have been and continue to be inspired by this site. I also hope in the coming year to start submitting my pages for publication.
