I can remember the exact moment that I knew that I had to scrapbook. It was right after I brought my daughter Lucy home from the hospital and I wanted to know all of the details of my own birth. How much did I weigh? How long was I? What time was I born? I began to dig through my small box of childhood mementos and realized that when my mother left our family years ago she had taken almost all of our photographs and these precious memories with her. At that moment I swore that Lucy would never have to wonder about her childhood and the important details of her life.

Fast forward three and a half years and I am full blown scrapbooking obsessed! My every waking moment is consumed with thoughts of scrapbooking, and I love it! For me this hobby is a way to capture the life of my child and to leave her a sense of how much she was loved and adored. I am also a wife to my husband Chris and a fourth grade teacher, so for me scrapbooking is about striking a balance between the super creative techniques showcased in Creating Keepsakes and the simple and fast ideas shown in Simple Scrapbooks. I love to take techniques that appear to be very time consuming and scale them down for my time constraints. My style ranges from super simple to a little more ornate, but I assure you that if I do it on a page it is quicker and easier than it looks and can easily be done by anyone.
