February 2013 Editor's Letter
by Karina Worlton
(Feb 1, 2013)
It's the month of love! It's a good time to tell all the important people in our lives that we love them. You don't have to have a sweetheart to express that love. Parents, siblings, friends, or pets would love some extra attention. Sneak peek for the month: In honor of the holiday, we have articles about Valentine's Day, Valentine's cards, Valentine's home décor, and more. We didn't neglect the other special days in the month because we also are covering Groundhog Day, Boy Scout Day, National Cherry Month, and Purim. Look for articles on scrapbooking timesavers, pregnancy, baby cards, choosing a color scheme, snack foods, and team photos. We'll talk about preparing to travel, and traveling to Austria. Of course that's not all, so check in every weekday to see what article we have for you. This month's featured writer is our Canadian, Jennifer Vardy Little. Hi, I’m Jennifer Vardy Little, but I go by J-M here at Scrapjazz.com. Whether it’s work or play, being creative is the name of the game for me. By day, I’m the editor of two weekly newspapers in a small town in Nova Scotia, Canada, and by night, I scrapbook and make cards. Both aspects of my life require a lot of creativity – and I find my scrapbooking skills blending into my day job in terms of coming up with new ways to lay out pages in interesting ways. Most of my scrapping revolves around my son, Robbie, who is five and a half. I’m trying my best to bring up a scrapper and nothing brings more joy to me than spending a Sunday afternoon in my craft room as he plays with my stamps. I also enjoy baking and cooking and spend as much free time as possible volunteering at my son’s school. I’m an avid reader and I also love to knit and cross-stitch. My husband Matt and I love to curl up with a movie or play a game of scrabble. As a family, we enjoy travelling to visit our family in my native Newfoundland - each year we try to introduce my husband to a new part of the island – and around Atlantic Canada. Spending family time together is the most important thing to us – and getting more photos to scrap is just an added benefit of that! This month, Jenn will share with us the valentines she made for her son's classroom, and a layout she made to celebrate Groundhog Day. Wishing you lots of love, valentines and chocolate! |
