Maximize Your Digital Scrapbooking with Scrapbook MAX!

by Andrea Steed (May 1, 2006)

In recent months, digital scrapbooking has quickly gained momentum and seems to be becoming almost as popular as traditional scrapbooking. There are all sorts of benefits that come along with digital scrapbooking, such as the delete button, less mess and storage to deal with, and instantly share-able pages, so it's no surprise that many artists have been making the switch.

*If you're looking for an easy-to-use and versatile digital scrapbooking software program, take note! This month, the Blue Crew designers here at Scrapjazz had a chance to try out the new digital scrapbooking software called Scrapbook MAX! While many of our designers aren't accustomed to or experienced with digital scrapbooking, we quickly found out how truly easy it can be by using this software. With Scrapbook MAX! you can combine photos, embellishments, journaling text, speech bubbles, music and more.

Templates and Designs

Scrapbook MAX! is the perfect software to use for any beginner or advanced digital scrapbooker. Whether you want to use pre-made templates where you can just plug in your pictures and type out your journaling, or create each page from scratch using your own designs and downloaded digital elements, you can-and it's easy.

The CD-ROM comes complete with a content pack filled with ready-to-use scrapbook themes, layouts, embellishments and alphabets to get you started. Here are a few layouts created using the templates included in the software and simply plugging in photographs:

As you grow and begin to create more and more pages, you'll use the software as your editing and designing tool to mix and match the elements to create your own designs. These pages were created using the page elements found on the CD, but were designed from scratch by the artist:

Then, you can use the online community at the Scrapbook MAX! web site to acquire even more templates or you can download templates and other digital elements from dozens of different digital scrapbooking web sites to use with the Scrapbook MAX! software. The design options are endless!

Editing and Retouching

In addition to an easy-to-understand interface for plugging in pictures, embellishments, and text into a layout, Scrapbook MAX! also offers photo editing features and effects. Red-eye reduction, torn edges, shadows, shapes, and cool effects all add to the uniqueness and design possibilities for your layouts. Tools such as rotating, cropping, and resizing make it easy to adapt any photo or embellishment to your page.

Sharing and Publishing

Once your pages are complete, Scrapbook MAX! offers several ways for you to share them with friends and family. You can create a video, burn a CD/DVD, or make slideshows and screensavers. Each image can also be printed in high resolution color, or saved as .jpg images to email and upload to online galleries.

Scrapbook MAX! is only $39.95 and you can download a free trial version to test it out for yourself. The CD-ROM includes a "getting started" tutorial video and an easy-to-follow user's guide that will take you step-by-step through the creative process to quickly teach you how the software works and the many options you can use to create fantastic digital layouts. Give it a try! It makes digital scrapbooking easy for anyone.
