8” x 8” Digital Album Tutorial
Drag. Drop. Print. With pre-designed digital layouts, creating mini albums has never been easier than this! Instructions: *I've used Microsoft Word for this tutorial, but feel free to use any graphic manipulation program you wish, such as Adobe Photoshop. - Download digital mini-album of your choice and save.
- Open a new document in Microsoft Word and expand the margins to fit 8" x 8" (new margin size: 1/4 inch on each size).
- Click "Insert" and select "Picture from file" from the drop-down menu. Browse for your photo and double-click to open.
- Right-click on your photo and click "Format Picture". Select the "Layout" tab and click "Behind Text". Then click the "Advanced" button on the lower right. Click "Move Photo with Text" to deselect this option. Click "Ok".
- Follow step 2 to open the first page of your mini-album.
- Your layout will now be on top of your photo, with a transparent hole for it to show through. Click on your photo and drag it behind the hole.
- Select "Insert" and then "Text Box". When the dialog box appears, click and drag to create a box roughly the size of the journaling space.
- Type your text inside the box.
- To remove the border and background from your text box, right-click and set background and border to "None".
- Follow step 4 on the text box, this time changing the "Layout" to "In Front of Text". Continue with step.
- Move your text box on top of journaling space.
- Print when your layout is complete.
To display my printed album, I used an s.e.i. album. I used self-laminating sheets to protect my cover page and adhered it to the cover of the album with Tacky Tape. Special thanks to the Shabby Princess for the amazing digital album used in this tutorial! See the rest of the layouts in my album here.
