Pros:
Cons: Blades break easily

I got this as a Christmas gift. I never even got a chance to use it. while practicing, 3 different blades broke. I've heard from others that happens a lot. blade replacemtent is too expensive, so I don't bother with it.

Pros: Easy to use and store.
Cons: Have to snip a small bit of paper.

LOVE my Coluzzle system. The blades don't seem to need to be replaced very often. I use it for circles, tags, envelopes and alphabets. One of the products that I wouldn't want to live without.

Pros: easiest I have found
Cons: need more instructions for newbies

I love this system too... once I figured it all out, I just wish they had more layman operating instructions on each package. I didn't quite "get" that each template had TWO plastic film coatings... I think that is why I had to change the first blade. I haven't changed a blade since, and I've been using it since August on many many layouts. I love this!!!

Pros: Easy to use
Cons: HAVE to REMOVE plastic coating! & cut channels

To the previous reviewer - the plastic coating HAS to be REMOVED! It is there for manufacturing purposes. I have never had a blade break. Just make sure to hold the knife straight up with the blade all the way through the template into the foam cutting mat. I have way too many templates for this and find I use the circles, ovals, tags & alphabets the most.

Pros: inexpensive template shapes, easy to use
Cons: have to cut tiny bits from finished product

This is a great cutting system for those who hate to trace and cut (or those who have a hard time getting a clean cut with scissors). You get so many sizes with each shape template, it's really quite affordable.

Pros: Versatile, affordable
Cons: None

The Coluzzle is a wonderful product!! This Starter Kit does not include a template. For your first template I suggest circle or oval. After that the sky's the limit. The Coluzzle is easy to use. Place the white foam mat on your work surface, place your photo or paper on the mat. Then place your transparent template on top of your photo. Place the swivel knife in one of the guided channels and it will cut like butta! (Remember Mike Meyers SNL's Chat Lady skits? Like Butta!) Because the knife cuts into the foam rather than hitting a hard mat the knife glides through without much pressure. The guided channels keep the knife "on course." This system is so easy to use!! Aside from shapes like circles, oval, squares, rectangles, hearts, you can get paper dolls, nature shapes, envelopes, cards, etc. There are lots of fonts for the font fanatic. Most templates range in price from $5-$20 making it very affordable. Use Michaels and watch for sales to save even more. This will be particularly attractive to the font fanatic that doesn't want to invest in a Sizzix or QuicKutz where the alphabets start at $100 (On sale) vs the $20 or so for a Coluzzle template. Another big plus is that you can use your EZ2Cut and AccuCut Shapemakers with Coluzzle. If you are considering this system, look into getting Provo Craft's Creating With Coluzzle book, Vol 2 (another volume is set for release later this year). This book is jam packed with how to's for creating hundreds of items using Coluzzle templates. It's available at most Michaels if you want to take a peek. Just FYI - Michaels doesn't even carry half of the Coluzzle templates available. For their complete line see www.creativexpress.com and for all of the EZ2Cut and Shapemaker templates see www.luv2scrapbook and/or www.accucut.com

Pros: Easy to use
Cons:

I just bought the system last night, cutter, mat and 2 templates and I am running out today to buy more. I used the tag shapes on three pages I am working on for gifts for Christmas and they were great. They came out beautifully had no "ramp up" time to learn and look great on my pages.

Pros: easy storage
Cons: having to take off the plastic coating

this is a great system. I like that their are lots of sizes of the shape on one sheet. It's easy to store. Also, I've found it easy to use so far and haven't broken blades. The only thing I find difficult is taking that plastic coating off. How do you all get that off? I have ended up using them with the coating because I just can't get it off.

Pros: lots of choices
Cons: blade sticks in soft plastic far too easily

I would recommend this only because the options are so poor. I like the nesting capability, but so often, the blade cuts the plastic and once that happens, it's all over - every time you use it, it catches again. Also, it's really easy for the paper underneath to slip, so your cut gets messed up, or you use half of one diameter and half of a different size and mess it up that way.
