Pros: Accommodaes dies from other cutting systems
Cons:

I recently bought this system and recommend it. The dies glide thru effortlessly. I bought an alphabet die set, there are many to choose from. Like all of the die cut systems, it's not cheap, nor are the dies. However, I bought everything directly from their website, and they had a sale section where I was able to buy the die set at a big discount. They were stated as slightly imperfect. They cut 2 at a time allowing for separation of each letter for different outside and inside colors. Mine being an imperfect set, sometimes a letter doesn't cut thru completely but easily snipped. It was worth the discount. I'm sure this does not happen with the regular dies. Also, the Zip'eMate accommodates other dies cut systems, I don't recall which ones. Check out their website, it tells you there. I hope this was helpful.

Pros: You can use dies from other cutting systems
Cons: Other materials are difficult.

I have a zip'emate. Perfect with cardstock, but I have problems with other materials. I use sizzix dies. I would like to use leather or foam, but the (special) mat and de sizzix die wiht foam or leather is to thick. It doesn't cut. I tried also using the embossing mat, but than it is going to easy through the zip'emate and no cutting. The QuicKutz dies are no problem. Even foam works perfect.

Pros: cuts so easily without great effort
Cons: too heavy to carry to crops...mostly used for home

I bought it for the versatility it gives to cut die-cuts of different manufacturers. It is pretty heavy though.

Pros: Sturdy
Cons: Big, Heavy, too many Steps

OK - I bought one of these things because I'm all about overkill - get something that will get any job done... let's face it - this one looks the toughest. Now that I've wasted my money, let me tell you why. This thing is a beast - there is no way I'm going to carry it anywhere with me. It's permanantly a part of my crop table... because it's no fun to move. Also, have you ever had to read instructions for something that should be very "easy" to figure out? This thing leaves unanswered questions... it's kinda confusing... even when a friend showed me how to do it, it still seems like a lot of work to go through for a little piece of paper. Just don't let the sandwiching pieces pinch you - it HURTS!

Pros: Versatile, Use dies from many manufacturers
Cons: None; machine retooled and now weighs less

I have the first one that came out and the retooled one that weighs much less. Both work equally well. I would suggest you be careful who you purchase this from. CutAtHome is known for sending old machines and dies, and the new ones work much better! Ask lots of questions before you buy - retail price is now $89.99.
