I've had this trimmer for about 2 years now. I love it just as much today as I did the day I got it. It's a big tabletop model, so it's not easy to carry to crops. I don't mind though. The perfect, crisp cuts are definitely worth it. The rotary blade is self-sharpening. I haven't had to change it, and it's still just as sharp as it was 2 years ago. I chose the Dahle over the Genesis because of the long wait associated with the Genesis trimmer. I've never regretted that decision.

Cuts straight
Cons:
not portable, well it is but it's bulky....

I've been struggling for some time trying to find a trimmer that cuts straight....I finally invested $$ in the Dahle and I must say it was the best investment I've made, this is the first trimmer I've had that cuts straight and keeps cutting straight after the newness wears off. It's great

These industrial cutters are used in our 3 stores. We have had them in the stores for 2 years and have not had to change the blades, until now that is....
Great cutter....accurate and you can cut slivers of paper with it....even make curls.
Worth the money

Pros:

Straight Cuts, Self-Sharpening Blade
Cons:
It's not easy to make small cuts.

I've had this for about 3 years now and I wouldn't trade it for anything. I love that it's heavy and sturdy - it doesn't move while I'm cutting and my cuts are always straight. I love the self sharpening blade and still am using the original one. I do wish I had kept my smaller cutter - this one makes it hard to measure tiny cuts, but I've managed to get by without.
This cutter is definitely worth the investment.

Pros:

Never needs sharpening, always a straight cut, will cut vellum or chipboard equally good
Cons:
won't cut paper smaller than 2" wide

I researched trimmers for a long time before buying this one, and it has been perfect! Of course, I listened to the expert advice of Libby W. and Liz C. and then read all the reviews I could before making the purchase. After 1 1/2 years of use, the blade still cuts perfectly. Of course, since it's self sharpening, one would wonder how true that would be. I consider this one of my best investments since I started scrapbooking.
