Finally! A cutter that cuts straight!
Cons:
I wish the straight blade was included.
I went to the Scrapbook Expo in Orlando Florida on Aug. 27, 2005. We met the owner of Made Easy Inc. (Jim), and he demonstrated this relatively new cutting system. We were impressed - so much so that we bought five of them at the show. The cutter cuts beautiful, straight cuts. There is virtually no play in the arm of the cutter, and Jim told us that the way it is constructed, there should never be any play in the arm - never any adjustments. For its size, it is really lightweight. I can totally see myself taking this to a crop. The interchangeable blade system is ingenious, and I like how the extra blades can be stored in the bottom of the unit.
The initial purchase includes the Victorian blade set, the scalloped blade set, and the deckle blade set. A straight blade set is available for a minimal extra purchase. The reasoning for not including the straight blade is that so many people already have straight blade cutters. While that is true, I would like to have seen the straight blades included with the base unit. Most straight-blade cutters I have used (including similar guillotine cutters) do not cut true straight cuts. My friends and I tested this cutter at the show, and every cut was straight, every time. We cut cardstock, text-weight paper, and even vellum. Even thin slices of vellum cut perfectly every time.
I am so glad my search for a decent, reasonably-priced cutter are finally over.

It is easy to tote around in the case.

Cons:

It does not cut consistantly.

I have had a very flustrating time with this product and the company who makes it! I purchased it and when the I got home and went to use it, the cutter wouldn't cut consistantly. I contacted the company to discuss the problems I was having, but I couldn't get anyone to return my phone calls. I now wish I had never spend the money on a product that doesn't work!!!

I Love, Love, Love the Create-A-Cut! I first saw it demonstrated at the Scrapbook Expo 2005 in Ontario, CA. I was impressed, but hesitated to purchase it on the spot. After returning home, I thought of all the reasons I wanted a Create-A-Cut. As my birthday neared that year, I gave my hubby my wish list with only one item: the Create-A-Cut. He ordered me the whole package and now, I use it constantly. I scrapbook and make cards, so it is one of my most used tools. It always cuts perfectly, and I'm thrilled with the results. One of my best purchases ever!

Decorative edges

I was so happy when my mom suprised me with this. Then so frustrated when it wouldn't work right. The concept is great it's just too bad the darn thing doesn't work. Most of the times I've tried to use it the beginning part of the the decorative blades catch, the thing looks like it wants to break.
