Pros: quick and easy to use
Cons:

I got the chance to use this machine recently and it is amazing considering that it is so new. I am sure it canbe improved but it is so neat to be able to cut out so many shapes and fonts in sucha short amount of time and little effort.

Pros: fun to use, easy
Cons: high cost

I was the first kid on my block to get this thing, and let me tell you, I was excited. This is a great version 1.0 of a product. But I am disappointed in how much money it is going to cost for me to get a lot of use out of this machine. For example, I have only used it about 5 times (just opened it this morning) and already, I am going to have to replace the cutting mat. (It isn't sticky any more.) In fact, I can't even use the machine any more until I get a new mat. Also, the fonts (it comes with one cartridge) are expensive. Almost 90.00 on top of the $299.00 I have already paid. There is a carrying case that looks pretty slick, but it is an additonal $99.00. Also, I was hoping to be able to cut chipboard, and I can already tell that that won't be possible. It does a great job on regular scrapbook paper, vellum and cardstock, though. I guess chipboard is asking too much! lol Anyway, I think it is a pretty cool machine, but make sure you are up to the investment before you buy it. Right now, I can already tell that I am going to have to spend $1,000 to get the accessories (font cartridges, the tote, more cutting mats) that I will need in order to make this a big part of my crafting projects. At least some (if not all?) of the additional fonts include upper and lower case, and some cute shapes, too. Only thing is, the fonts that are available right now aren't really that cute... or maybe I am too picky. In any case, though, I am sure they will come out with new fonts soon!

Pros: Cutting is done by the machine
Cons: expensive accessories

The Cricut seems to be a good product. I haven't had any trouble cutting anything I program it to cut. It took long enough to come out. Makes me think there were a lot of bugs in it. The accessories are expensive, but since Michaels is carrying the line, you can always use 40% coupons on them. It's still new, so I have to see if I will use it a lot.

Pros: Quick & easy to use
Cons:

I love the Cricut!!! I've had this product for two weeks and have used it every day. It sure does make scrapbooking & card making a breeze. The cartridges appeared to be somewhat pricey, but I took the plunge and invested in 6. Each cartridge provides over 50 images (100+ if you count the images in the upper right corner). In addition there are 6 creative features for each image. If you compared the price of the cartridge to the price of a sizzix / sizzlets set, the cartridge is a much better deal.

Pros: amazing machine
Cons: accessories a little pricey

This is a wonderful product. It's possibilities are only limited to your imagination. It's easy enough to operate that my 8 year old grandson was turning out adorable projects within about 5 minutes of instruction from me. Whether you're a teacher, scrapbooker, paper crafter, card maker or just a dabbler in all of it, this is by far the ultimate cutting system presently on the market under $300.

Pros: Awesome new product
Cons: a little expensive

I got to play with the new Cricut machine today. It is so cool! No computer required- you just plug it in and type in what you want it to cut. It can be cut from 1"-5 1/2". I'm a CM consultant and I know this will kill my sales of die-cuts and letter stickers! But it is a wonderful product!

Pros: Very very easy to use
Cons: pricey accessories but who cares

Well, I was a little cautious about buying this product because my friends and I just bought a pricey Pazzles mini die cutter that didn't cut the paper properly and when it came down to returning it, we went through a lot of hassle and the people at Pazzles were so rude when they realized that we were giving them the product back. So how could Cricut be better than a $650 machine? Believe it or not, this machine works 100% better than the Pazzles and you don't have plug it into a computer, so it's very portable. It has a lot of great features but what I love most about it is that it loads the paper with a simple press of a button. We had to struggle with the Pazzles mini cutter for about 5 to 10 minutes before we can load the darn paper into the machine and then we didn't even know if we were getting a good cut or not. Anyway, so far I've Love this Machine and I believe I've convinced my friends to delve back into the die cutting machines. One probably will sell her Xyron die cutter and get this one instead. Just be prepared to buy lots of expensive Accessories.

Pros: PAINLESS Die-Cutting
Cons: Makes Me Sorry I Ever Bought QuicKutz

I bought a QuicKutz last year when QVC had it as a "Today's Special Value".I had procrastinated on purchasing a die-cut machine and at the time, this seemed like the best deal.In short, I hated the QuicKutz as it hurt my hands and the alphabet included with it was so small it required tweezers to remove the punched-out letters.Even though the "cradle" came with my QuicKutz, the thing hurt my hands to use it.After a long day of cropping, I actually noticed bruising on the inside of my hands.Extra font packages were very expensive, and other than an occasional die cut tag shape, I returned to using letter stickers and sidelined my QuicKutz.I had tried Sizzix at a local crop shop, and although it was easier on the hands than the QuicKutz, I could not rationalize the expense. It was with great hesitation that I purchased the "Cricut".I am so glad that I did -- Cricut is just fantastic.Compared to the lack of versitility and expense of my QuicKutz, Circut has it beat hands down.It is simple to set-up, simple to use and the font cartridges are far less expensive than QuicKutz.Cricut is worth every penny I paid for it and then some. There are some materials the QuicKutz will cut that Cricut will not, and QuicKutz is virtually indestructable. It is heavy enough that it might even make a good door stop, which may wind-up being the use I find for it in the future. In a consumer comparison of Cricut vs. QuicKutz, Cricut is the "hands-off" winner! Thank you ProvoCraft for making this machine. I am one happy scrapper!

Pros: very easy to use
Cons: none so far

I have had my Cricut for three weeks. Love it, Love it, Love it ! It is easy to use right out of the box if you have seen a demonstration. If not, watch one on the Cricut website. I have purchased four font sets so far, One from Michaels with a coupon, $54.00. Others on Ebay for just over $40.00. I love that you can make any font or shape any size you want. I am still using my first cutting mat that came with the machine. A good trick is to keep from touching the mat with your hands and it will stay sticky. I don't have the tools and don't need them. I use an exacto and tweezers if I have to, but not often, only on very tiny pieces like the centers of O's and 8's, etc. I love my Cricut. I have been looking at Die cutting systems for over a year, all in all this machine and it's accessories still seem to be the better buy, considering the versitality of just one font cartridge, sizewise and all. I have spent less than $500.00 and I have a cutter and 5 font cartridges I can carry any where ( I didn't need Cricut carrier, right now I use the box, it has a handle). I see others struggle with a sizzix and one or two fonts. I love my Cricut Cutter !!!!!!!

Pros: Portability, ease of use, does not need computer
Cons: cost of cartridges, mats and etc.

I have one, I love it. The ability to cut a whole word or phrase at one time is great. HOWEVER, it does use a memory chip that has to be cleared out when you do a lot of cutting. Once you get the hang of it you are on your merry way. Although I sent my first machine back, the second (knock on wood) is performing very well. The cartridge cost is steep, however with patience and the ability to use coupons I have managed to collect quite a few. The numbers on the newer and some replacement modes instead of the lines opening wider and wider are goo. All in All I am pleased with my Cricut.
