Description: This is a LO for the Mother and me challenge. I have not done a traditional LO for sometime and wanted to create a traditional page paying tribute to my wonderful Mother.
Here is one of the hidden journaling under the picture:
As a teen, I got so upset when people told me I looked like my Mother. As I grew older, I realized what a compliment it is to look like my Mother. When I look in the mirror, or see myself in a picture, I see so much of my Mother's features, her lips, her eyes and her smile. I also see, that I really reflect many of her values and traditions. In my twenties, I vowed not to act or sound like my Mother and if one of her comments or phases came out of my mouth, I responded, “Uggh, I sound like my Mother.” In my Thirties, if one of my Mother's clichéd statements rolls off my tongue, I happily say, “ WOW, I sound like my Mother.” Often, when I am in a tough situation, I think what would Mom say or do? So today, when I look in the mirror, I see you through my eyes.
The other is journaling is a poem that reads:
Today, I looked in the mirror;
Curious as to what I would see.
I expected to see my reflection
staring back at me.
But as I looked, I saw something more
In the face staring there.
I saw my mother;
I saw myself in your eyes.
Each year is another year closer
To looking like my Mother.
I see her in my reflection,
I see it in my lips.
I see it in my eyes
May I not only look like her
But, reflect her heart as well.
Another year closer to looking like mom,
which only makes me glad.
So
When I look in the mirror
I happily now, see myself in her eyes
