Description: The Strasburg Railroad is my sons' favorite outing so we go frequently and I am always looking for new ways to scrap it. This is the first time I have ever used sepia photos. We always save the tickets from these historic train rides and I took a picture of some and printed it in black and white to make the background paper. This is also the first time I have printed my own background paper. Some of the journaling is paraphrased from the Strasburg Railroad website.
For any of you with kids into Thomas the Tank Engine, this is the actual engine used in the movie "Thomas and the Magic Railroad" and the engine will be 100 years old this year. We also saw the engine used in the movie "Hello Dolly" as well as the coach Dolly rode in there, although that's an open air coach and wasn't running on this cold day.
The sight of the steam, The sound of the whistle, The awesome power of the engine…
Taking us back in time on a journey to Paradise.
We finished the year 2005 with a family outing to the Strasburg Railroad. We traveled back to 1905 in the deluxe lounge car pulled by the 100 year old engine, number 475, on a ride to Paradise, Pennsylvania.
