Description: This was probably my most difficult LO EVER!!! This is my ex and I a week after we got married. Journaling is a fold out under the large pic. It reads:
"Days come, and days go. Time passes, and as I look back, I can see the changes more clearly. We had been married almost a month when these photographs were taken in Brindisi, Italy. In October of 1989, we were so in love. Newlyweds setting out on a new adventure called marriage. This was the beginning of a life that we thought we would share forever.
Then the days began passing. And the days became years. We both tried to share the moments, though the shared moments became fewer and fewer until we were living two separate lives. The one bond that we still had was our love for our son. That is something that we still each have a part of, though we’re no longer sharing a life together as one family.
As I approach the fourteenth year anniversary of our marriage, and the one year mark of our divorce, I’m finally able to see things more clearly. I can see where mistakes were made by us both. I can see where more time could have been shared. But I can also see a future that I could not have imagined a year ago. I’m stronger. I’m independent. And I’m the mother that I’ve always known I could be, to the most amazing segment of my life, our son Michael. At thirteen years old, he has been a rock for me. Michael has been my only priority, the motivation for everything I have done in the last year.
So now, I see that these photos are memories of another time and another place. Something I don’t want to forget, but memories none the less.
