Description: When the rainy season hit in 2011, our main road to
work flooded. There was a couple of feet of water
over the pavement and the river had overflowed it’s
banks and left the surrounding areas under almost
four feet of water. Ted and I jumped in the truck and
took a drive to take pictures. Many of the homes
built along the river were flooded. Fortunately, when they were built, the main living areas were on the second story above the garage. Most folks moved
their cars out to the higher road and got to them by
rowboat. We were lucky that it didn’t reach our
home. In the seven years that I have lived in the area, this is the only time there has been this much flooding.
