Description: Journaling:
Log Your Memory became a reality after about a month and a half of intense brainstorming, late nights planning, writing and designing ... and about five YEARS of trial and error. In fact, I’ve gone through so many false starts in this arena, my husband refers not-so-jokingly to me as a “serial entrepreneur.” First there was Spotlight Memory Studio and hours of what turned out to be boring video transfers. This was followed by several ideas that didn’t quite make it past the planning & logo design stages. (I do, however, own lots of interesting domain names... LOL.) Interspersed and overlapping were a couple different “real” jobs and a growing sense that I would never quite figure out my “ideal” path. That’s okay, though. Sometimes the best things are worth the wait, right?
I’ve been a scrapbooker, at least in my head, since I was a early teenager. And I’ve always had an interest in design... first, it was expressed through pages and pages of hand-drawn floor plans as a kid and made-from-scratch bulletin board displays in my bedroom. Later it revealed itself professionally in my tendency to favor designing newspaper pages over writing the articles to go on them, despite my “reporter” and later “managing editor” titles.
Combine my interest in design with a pressing urge to work at home and spend more time with my growing family and a core belief in that addage “do what you love and the rest will follow” and the result was someone constantly on the lookout for that one great idea that would let me fulfill this vision I’ve had in my head ... hang out with scrapbookers, research scrapbook “stuff” on the Internet, read tons of scrapbook-related books and magazines, design fun stuff that I and other scrapbookers could use, and, well, ... scrapbook! And of course, make some kind of career out of it so I don’t have to worry about balancing all of this with another job. And then it just kind of all came together for me in August. This idea that took on a life of its own. And the rest is now history.
TFL!!!
