Description: For SOW #33.
Our children don’t remember a time when there wasn’t something Harry Potter related to anticipate. Kairi was only four when we went to the midnight release for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Nick? He wasn’t even one. (Kai won the quidditch bowling event – I think they cheated on her behalf because she was cute.) By the time the first movie rolled around, she wanted me to bring the tickets right to her kindergarten classroom as soon as I bought them. They’ve been in the newspaper in costume. They’ve been to every premiere and book release since that first night in July 2000. But now, the clock is counting down. In just a few more hours, the very last Harry Potter movie will arrive in theaters. We’ will be there, of course. The kids are dressed up a day in advance for pictures (and in Kai’s case, for a farewell party at a friend’s house), so you know we will be in costume. But it feels like a little part of their childhood is disapparating forever. Goodbye, Harry.
This layout actually goes before the "Play Ball" one I just posted - realized too late that I needed a single pager, not a double pager to fit in the album. Fortunately, I had this picture from the day before when the kids tried on their costumes early for the last Harry Potter movie, which also let me write about their journey with Harry through the years. :-)
