When my brother Glen turned fifty this year, my sister-in-lawhad a family dinner for him and
winery tour in Livermore, CA. A chauffeur picked us up and drove us to three wineries, the last of which was the Coyne Winery. It sat on a rise overlooking
the many acres of vineyards and pasture. The buildings dated back to the 1880’s and were
still being used. It was very easy to imagine being there 130 years ago and sharing the land with the
Native American tribes of the area.
