Description: Journaling: Shaniqua and her family joined her friend Megan and Megan’s family for the annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure this year. The ladies share a kinship, as both are daughters of breast cancer survivors. Shaniqua had looked forward to this event and was excited when it all began.
The Young family arrived early to check in and secured their positions, waiting for the start of the walk. Shaniqua asked Christian if he wanted to ride in his stroller, and of course Christian, being the big 3 1/2 year old that he was, said “no.”
The walk started, and they were off. A little way into the walk, Christian decided that he wanted to ride in the stroller. They put Christian in the stroller while Kevin carried Jordan. That worked until Kevin got tired, and then they put both boys in the stroller. They proceeded on the walk, but shortly one of the wheels came off the stroller. Now Chris had to walk while Shaniqua and Kevin alternated carrying Jordan and the broken stroller.
Fortunately, the first aid service truck came along, and Kevin was able to put the broken stroller in the back of the truck. Meanwhile, Shaniqua, Kevin and the boys continued the walk, which by now they were far behind the entire group of walkers. As the race was coming to an end, the service truck began picking up the cones along the walk route, and the Youngs had to get the stroller off of the truck. Kevin rigged the broken wheel to the stroller and they continued the walk. The driver offered to take them to the finish line, but they insisted on finishing the walk, and
they did it!
I am so proud of my daughter and her family for their conviction and support.

What a beautiful story. This LO will be treasured in the years to come- it's a great reminder of the reason we scrapbook, and made me realize how I need to do more journaling! TFS!!
