Description:This is for Nora's June BC Challenge and May Flaum's "Crazy About Kits" class! Scrapping this picture really brought back the rush of emotions I felt as a new mom. Seven weeks after my son was born, we took a family vacation to Destin, FL. I had been so overwhelmed by the first few weeks alone with the baby, was having a hard time (physically) healing from his birth, and was feeling a little bit strung out. This moment was one of real peace and serenity for me. We were walking along the beach after dinner, and Owen was so engrossed in everything around us. He was just beginning to become aware of his surroundings, and i felt able to sit back and really enjoy the person he was becoming. That trip is what taught me that being a house-wife and a mother are two different jobs, and helped me focus on the more important one.
