Journaling reads: Intro:
I first heard of Twilight on LiveJournal. At that time I was a staffer at TFL. All of us were LJ friends. One of the girls started writing about Twilight all the time, as far back as 2006, maybe earlier. I remember looking it up after she had mentioned it. But it was listed as a young adult book, and a vampire one at that! I wasn't into vampires, especially kiddie ones, so I didn't pay a whole lot of attention for a while.
But soon the Twi-madness started to grow among my LJ friends and it was hard to avoid. So I became curious and put it on my Amazon.com wish list, as something I'd think of getting. That Christmas, in 2007, we had our annual TFL board staffer gift exchange. My gift arrived a week or two before Christmas. My Secret Santa had gotten me Twilight! I was in the middle of reading something else so I didn't start it till Christmas.
I was hooked right away. I quickly finished the book and NEEDED New Moon right away. Luckily the paperback was found at Walmart quickly and cheaply! I devoured it as well. Time for Eclipse, so back to Walmart. ON NO! NO PAPERBACK! One of my book things is that if they are a series that I own, they MUST match! Since I wasn't going to buy 1 or 2 again, I decided to try toget Eclipse from the library. Finally, three AGONIZING weeks later, it was in my hot little hands.
Then came the worst news of all...book four had yet to be released. And wouldn't be for SIX MORE MONTHS. GAH. So while waiting I started listening to them on CD on the way to and from work. That held me over until Breaking Dawn was released. Three weeks after the early August release, I finally got it from the library!!
So it probably took me a bit longer to finish the series than the average obsessee...which is one of the pitfalls of getting into a series before it's completely written!
