I walked into the living room. Jackie was in the same position she had been all day - book in hand. It was vacation and she had been reading all day.
“Stop reading, Jackie,” I said to her. “You’ve been reading long enough.”
“What!” she exclaimed, “You’re forbidding me from reading!”
“When it’s been six hours straight,” Mike said. “Yes!”
“My parents are so mean!” Jackie said, stomping into the next room.
She walked to the back room, opened the sliding glass door and yelled out to the world, “My parents are so mean! They won’t let me read!”
Mike, following behind her, yelled, “We only let her read six hours a day!”
