Description:Actually this photo has nothing to do with the layout in that I took it when she was sulking because she couldn't have an icecream.
However, when I was thinking about scrapping this problem she has, I thought the photo would be perfect.
There have been a couple of times lately when my heart has broken for you. Both times we were walking along and you were looking at your feet, watching your toes point towards each other as you took each step.
You worry about that. You ask questions like “Will they always be like that?” and “Am I the only person in the family with feet that walk like this?” And without waiting for answers, you cry. You tell me that people at school laugh at the way that you walk. You’re feeling different and you just want to be like everybody else.
It turns out that Isla doesn’t laugh at you and you said passionately that she was the best friend in the world. I am so glad that you have a kind friend. You and I have talked a lot about choosing friends that make you feel good, and keeping away from people who make you feel bad. You are learning, but there are times that you are still hurt.
We are hoping that going to ballet might help a little with your in-toeing. All that standing around with your heels together and your toes pointed outwards might have a positive effect, right?
To Dad and I though, it doesn’t matter which way your toes point, but we understand why it matters to you and we will do what we can to help Sweetheart. Even though that may mean just helping you to hold your head up high regardless of what your toes are doing.
Kate,
I have been browsing your gallery. Your journaling is awesome! You write beautifully, passionately, and with so much heart. Your journaling is truly the heart of your layouts! What a treasure to pass down.
PS- I admire the way you handled this problem with your daughter! Good job Mom!!
This is a lovely LO. The pic is perfect and it is hard to scrap the not so great things that happen in life but I find it calming and helps you find your feelings. well done on this as it is hard to help our children see through the tough times and kids (and other adults) can be so cruel some times.
She's to beautiful to have to worry. It hurts to see them feel like their different doesn't it? Sammy has downs Syndrome so I soo Know what your feeling. Big Hugs for her from me and Sammy. Kim
This layout is wonderful! And even though your daughter is having a tough time right now I know that she will be all right. I can tell from your journaling that she will make it through because you are such a loving mom!
What a precious photo of your dd. I was like her too. I had to wear corrective shoes for years, so I can relate to the "feeling different". Your DD is perfect in God's eyes.
