Description:Really old photo that I've been too scared to scrap because I love it so much. Decided to go for super simple.
Border is even all around in real life...I can take good photos of the kids but suuuuck at taking photos of my layouts! Oh well, better that than the other way around I suppose.
We thought that now that you’d turned three you’d be besotted by the beach. We envisioned hot, summer days filled with happy shrieks as you jumped over the waves. As I rifled through some photos from just over a year ago, I was surprised to come across this one taken in December 2004. Why surprised you ask? Well mainly because it is solid evidence that the sun did actually come out once during that summer which I remember only as cold and bleak. Here you are, lolling in the sun enjoying a fruit mince pie which is probably garnished with sand. You’ve dug your right arm into the sand slightly, probably enjoying the warmth, flashed those baby blues at the camera and voila! One picture of a girl who loves being at the beach.
Wrong.
Well, not completely wrong because if you were unlucky enough to be dragged to the beach, you were relatively happy in the sand. Against all advice you continued to try and make sandcastles out of dry sand, getting more cross with each failure. You amused yourself with digging around in the sand for bits of shell or other treasures. Do you see the common denominator here? Sand.
The sea doesn’t feature. Too loud. Too wooshy. Too unpredictable. You’ve turned your back on Madeline and Daddy as they play in the surf. You’re waiting for Madeline to get cold so she will come back to the safety of the sand and you can both play. In the meantime you’ll just sprawl in the sun and enjoy a gritty fruit mince pie.
This is SO cool. I love how it is simple, yet very classy looking. It catches my eye. I love things straight and square :) I LOVE the title. Very nice job!
