For as long as I can remember you have nearly always had a pencil in your hand. At the age of one and a half, this was one of the first drawings you did…and you never stopped. At the age of around four you wanted to learn how to draw a proper human face so I taught you and your sketches were outstanding. You are now fourteen and I have kept most of your creations and art journals. They are amazing. You have experimented with pencils, charcoal, watercolours and acrylics. You’ve painted beautiful flowers and landscapes, designed clothes, and made up some unique cartoon type characters, designed tattoos and much, much more.
You attended art classes for a while but you have a unique, individual style…the sort that can’t be taught. I had already taught you the basics so although you enjoyed the classes, there wasn’t much you could learn from them and you didn’t want to change your style which is something the art classes would have eventually tried to make you do. Keep up with your art my love. It’s such a great way to keep in touch with your creative side. Photo taken on 7th April 1992, age one and a half.
