Description: Various pics from Ryan's "lining things up" phase.
Journaling reads:
When you were about 1-1/2 years old, you became obsessed with
lining things up. Didn't matter what the "things" were - if you
had more than one of them, you were going to line them up.
We later learned that this is quite a common obsession for kids
with Asperger's syndrome. (at the time these pictures were taken,
we did not know yet that you had it.)
You especially loved to line up the canned food items from the
pantry cabinet. The first few times you did it, you held up each
can and asked "Dis??" (as in "what's this?") and we named the items
for you. Every time we turned around, you were in that cabinet,
lining up all the cans and saying "Soup, beans, coo-coos (couscous),
mah-nade (marinade). One day when you were playing this beloved
game, you found one particular can that had the label peeled off.
(wonder how that happened??)
You didn't know what to call that one, so you just called it "CAN".
Wish I had that on video - it was priceless!
