Amanda is completely obsessed with pandas, so this was a big thrill for her.
Can we see the PANDAS FIRST?
Even though this was not Amanda's first time seeing live pandas, she was still VERY excited about seeing them. "Can we see the pandas first?? Please?? Please??"
The zoo website had advised that the best time to see the pandas was before 10am or after 2pm. So, to Amanda's delight, we headed to the panda section as soon as we got into the zoo. There were no crowds to speak of at the exhibit, and we got a really great, close-up view of the pandas. Everyone was amused by the one that was sleeping way up on a high tree branch. How do they do that??
We went back for a repeat visit later in the afternoon, after seeing the rest of the zoo. It was a little more crowded this time, and the pandas were not as receptive to visitors (they stayed near the back of their habitat most of the time.)
