Description: LegoLand pics from our 2004 trip to San Diego
Of all the things we planned to do in San Diego, the one thing Ryan was most looking forward to was the Volvo Driving School at Legoland. Prior to the trip, he had spent hours looking at the Legoland website, dreaming about driving through a miniature town and getting his own official "driver's license."
But when we finally got to Legoland, we were standing on line for another attraction and we overheard someone say that the driving school was CLOSED. Kevin and I looked at each other in a panic - what were we going to tell Ryan?? We decided that we had to tell him the truth early in the day, so that he would have time to recover from the disappointment. We waited until after we finished the Lego safari, and when Ryan asked if we could go to the driving school next, we told him what we had heard. He got upset, but he took it much better than we expected. We promised him a trip to another Legoland in Canada sometime over the summer, so that he would have a chance to go to the driving school there. (Little did we know that the other Legoland we were thinking of was not in Windsor, Ontario, but actually in Windsor, ENGLAND.)
Imagine our surprise when we turned the corner into Fun Town and saw that the driving school was actually in full operation!!!
Ryan was BEYOND excited.
