Well, I went for my humorous side by telling my "cussing in church story!"

Boy oh Boy! Where do I begin this story? Oh well, here we go! While growing up in Radford Virginia, I attended the Radford Church of God in Christ; where the women wore skirts both inside and outside of the church at all times, cussing earned you a quick pop on the lips and the services were unbelievably long! At 5 sitting still for one hour seemed like a lifetime!
Every Sunday I attended Sunday school as well as the noon worship service. The church was somewhat small and in order to teach to all age groups the children’s classes were held in the basement while the adults remained upstairs. Upon completion of the class and to not disrupt the pastor in the midst of his sermon, we remained seated with our teachers.
Well - on this particular day I wanted to sit with my momma (Her name is Jeanie, but I called her Deanie) who was sitting quite a bit away from me and I needed to get her attention so, I did what any normal kid would do and I whispered her name - “Deanie!” Deanie didn’t answer me. So, I tried it again; only this time my whisper got a little louder - “Deanie!” Deanie is still not answering me, Out of sheer frustration comes my final cry - “Shit Deanie, don’t you hear me calling you!” All eyes were quickly placed on both of us at this time. Needless to say, I was hoisted out of the pew by Deanie and taken outside for well ---- Do, I really need to tell you what happened to me? I think not! You can fill in the blanks. Just know that I don’t cuss and I wish we had padded pews!
The first time my mother told me that story, I just cracked up laughing and each times she tells it, I still laugh! Thanks momma for always making me laugh!
