Description: This is my slow start back into scrapbooking, I took a 30-day break and now I am ready to get it going again! This layout was super dooper simple. I added some strips of patterened paper and large numbers to display my age! (What was I thinking!!!!) The journaling outlines the chain of events that took place on my day - I call this my blog page! As you can see, I looked pretty rough on my b-day; but it was all good! TFL - Yolanda Today (07-07-2005), I turned 34 and I’m not sure if I should laugh or cry! Since I still have breathe in my body and am in the right frame of mind; I’ve chosen to laugh! Although the day called for rain and thunder storms, I simply wouldn’t allow anything to rain on my parade! My mother awakened me with her annual rendition of Stevie Wonder’s birthday song, followed up with another birthday serenade from my Papa Fron! Rick usually leaves a greeting card on my steering wheel, well that didn’t happen today and I just knew… Ricky forgot my birthday!!! (Oh NO!!) So, I proceeded onto work and yes, I was a little disappointed, but I got over it! Upon arriving to work I found my desk filled with big yellow balloons, a birthday banner and a card; which contained a gift card to Lowes! (SWEET!!!) Later that day, my boss (Brian) allowed me to leave at noon! (I was super tired and was truly THANKFUL for the break.). While relaxing on the floor with Scooter, the phone rings and it’s Memory Makers. They are calling for my “Wanna Play” page because they want to publish it in their Jan 06 pet edition. (What a present!!!) Ricky finally gets home from work and greeted me with a birthday smooch and an ice cream cake! (I’ve not had one of these things in years!) Since it was my birthday, cooking was not an option, so off to Tony’s pizza he goes- hence the reason why I am dieting today!!! Ricky and I just kicked back, ate, drank and laughed; which is the norm for us; but today was extra special because he didn’t play that PS2; he chose to spend time with ME!!! (THANK YOU STANK) Today was filled with complete love and appreciation for me and I am eternally grateful to everyone who made my 34th birthday a very memorable occasion!

Glad your birthday turned out well. Sometimes it's not about the gifts you get, it's the time spent with loved ones.

Girl, I know about that PS2. Great layout. I love the simplicity of it but it sure stands out. Thanks for sharing and good to know your bday was pretty cool after all.
