Description: January 1, 2005 I snuck out of bed at 7:30am - I had bought a pregnancy test the day before and even though I knew it was probably 3 days too early to take it, I couldn\'t wait. I peed on the stick and waited - only to be faced with the fact that I thought I saw a very faint plus - but did I? Was it wishful thinking? The only solution - more tests! Problem was it was New Years Day and everything was closed. I did a search on the net and found a downtown drugstore that was opening at 12. Brad woke up and I fidgeted and bounced around, not wanting to tell him until I was sure. At the stroke of 12, I told him I was going downtown to get us some sandwiches and was out the door. I looked at all the tests and decided to go with a 3 pack of Clearblue ones as it either gave you a solid plus or minus - no detective work involved. I raced home, threw Brad his sandwich and bolted for the bathroom. I peed on the stick and waited for it to do its thing. Brad knocked on the door and said Maggie was on the phone so I turned and said I\'m busy, I\'ll call her back. I turned back and sure enough, no question about it, I was looking at a plus. After a few minutes of sitting there staring at it, I went and got the little Oilers slippers and the Daddy book I had bought a month for when this happened. I wrapped them up and gave them to him and said \"I got you a couple of New Years presents\". He said \"Oh that\'s nice, but I didn\'t get you anything!\". I tried not to stare at him as he opened the Oilers slippers. Those are so cute, he said, not clueing in and moved on to the book. After opening the book, he read out the title. I didn\'t say anything and neither did he until a minute later he said \"Are we having a baby?!\" I nodded and he said \"We\'re having a baby!!\" The rest of the day we sat around with smiles on our faces - Happy New Year to us! (The Oilers being my husbands favorite hockey team)
