Description:Journaling:
Amazing..On February 23, 2005, just one month shy of four years old, you read your first book. I pulled out Hop On Pop by Dr. Seuss to read to you and Misha before bedtime. You said to me, 'I want to read it.' 'Okay,' I replied. Next thing I know you were reading the words on the page. You had to look at the pictures on the page for clues, but you got them right. I was totally amazed. It was not like we had read the book several times. In fact, I had not read you that particular book in over six months.
I have read to you from the time you were two months old. One day, shortly after you started going to day care, you were less than six months old, Miss Stacy came up to me and said, 'You will not believe this. Sandi sat for 10 minutes on my lap while I read her a book!' I said, 'Yes, she does it all the time. Ten minutes is short. I can sit with her for at least twenty minutes before she loses interest.' Miss Stacy informed me that you were really advanced. 'Really, I don’t have anything to compare her to, so I thought that was normal,' I replied. 'No, that is amazing for a five and a half month old,' she said.
Well, you have never stopped amazing me ever since. You love learning and learn so quickly. I hope you never lose that love of learning. I hope you have really good experiences at school so it fosters you love of knowledge.
'The path to accelerating and enjoying the learning process requires us to see success and failure as equally instructive and valuable.' Quote by Michael Gelb and Tony Buran
