DH is back at work, the house is clean and I have church work this afternoon. It has poured with rain all morning - I like the sound as long as I don't have to go out in it.

We're having new speakers installed in the nave for the choir! You have no idea what an improvement this will be, to be able to hear the notices and the readings without having to strain or get frustrated and give up. Or get into trouble for not knowing. Or get snarky comments. I've been fighting for this since we got back 2 and a half years ago. I almost can't believe it's finally happening.

What are you doing today?

Rosey, I had a little chuckle. Persistence pays off. Enjoy being able to hear.

Today was a busy day. Went to work, did the everyday housework, floors swept and vacumned and wiped the skirting boards and window sills down. Finally got Mt Washmore conquered now I only need to get it all folded and put away.

I should do the folding while waiting for DH to go to work in an hours time.

I have a service call today for my water heater. That is scheduled for anytime between 10am-12pm. Hopefully it won't take to long. I would like to go to the gym before Abby gets home.

Other than that, just the usual. Cleaning, laundry, and soccer taxi.

I got to go back to sleep for an hour after waking up at 7:30. Then we did a couple of errands. Almost time for ds to go to his swim lessons. We'll come home for lunch, do some things around the house. Get the fresh blueberries that we picked into the freezer.
Then a back to school fun festival. It's going to be a hot one today and of course the event is right in the sun. ah well. the kids will have a blast with the bouncy castles.
Home to collapse as there will be a lot of standing and bumpy ground. With a bummed up ankle it won't be the most pleasing.

We are having summer storms too Rosey. I love them. I especially love them when I don't have to go out.

This morning was day number two of back to school and the girls are doing wonderful! We have our morning routine which is new to us and we love it. I'm not working out today but I'm going to concentrate on cleaning and putting order to all the stuff I bought for back to school lunches. I might have over purchased drinks... Now I don't have anywhere to put them lol

Laundry, cooking and mail is on my list too. Once the rats get home, it's homework and chatting about the day time.

I hate waiting around on people! It's almost 1pm and no one has been here. What a waste of a day.

I went to Target yesterday prepared to buy an area rug that I had seen, closet organizers, and fabric bins. I left the store with nothing! They didn't have my rug or organizers to match my bedroom/bathroom decor. I was so disappointed. I guess I'll be doing some online shopping. I seem to do most of my shopping online now.

I did find some organizers for our vanity drawers at Meijer. I wanted to make sure they would fit, so I just got two. One for me, and one for Abby. They fit! Camy convinced me to give her mine so she could pitch the one she has. They were so excited talking about organizing after school today. I'll have to get a few more, and find something for Lilly's vanity drawers. Her drawers are smaller.

Working the lunch shift today, so I will be home around 3:30. Having dinner out tonight, DH is in the mood for all you can eat shrimp, not me though, I'll probably have some sort of appetizer & salad.

Need to do some cleaning around the house, mop the kitchen & bathroom floors, and of course laundry.

The speakers are in! They sound so clear. I wish I was in church on Sunday to hear them, but I'm back at Mum's for the weekend. Next week though, yay!

Kaz, if you only knew what we've been through with those flipping speakers! Does your DH work nights? I don't think I'd clocked that.

I'm pleased the girls are getting on OK Vivi - no trouble with the locker then?

Sarah is J back at school yet or do your schools go back later? Ours don't go back till the middle of next week.

Jen 10-12 isn't a bad window for service calls. We tend to get told am or pm, and am could be any time from 8 to 12 arrival, and pm any time from 12 till 5. For an hour's work. It can make planning tricky at times.

Yay for the scrapping Stephanie! I have a LO spread out all over my desk about half done. I'm grabbing the odd minutes here and there.

Jen, organizing is my favorite hobby! I put together one of the cubby benches we bought at ikea this past weekend for the girls' backpacks. Hanging them on the door is too tall for them to access so I got the cubes for them to put the bags in when they get home.

Rosey, Binks did have trouble with the locker but took it in stride and laughed about it. I hope today she doesn't have troubles.

Rosey- 10-12 wouldn't be bad if they actually showed up during that time. 2pm, still no one has shown up. 4 hours wasted! I could have gone to the gym.

I called them last week and scheduled an appointment for service. They said someone would be by today between 10-12. When I called she apologized and said that I wasn't added to the repairman's schedule. We rescheduled for next week, and she offered me $20 toward the repair and/or replacement.

This totally would irk me!! However, there really isn't much you can do about it unless you called another service. If you have to replace it, I would call for estimates NOW so you know the price range of them.

Today was my first day of work. Blech. It was very boring. We had a meeting in the afternoon district wide telling us they are trying to figure out an automated system to "keep track of our hours." This kind of irked me. There are so many minutes of my day that do not get clocked-from escort duty going into my lunch, from me typing things up at home or making review sheets AT HOME for my students, so keeping track of every little minute at school makes me feel like I am a juvenile.

They said they are thinking of a swipe in system. However, if you are in a school as big as ours, that isn't feasible. If you are supposed to get out at 2, then wind up swiping out at 10 after because a van doesn't come, you will get yelled at for being over. (yup, this happens!!)

Right now a lot of the "extras" that I do, I get to leave 5 minutes early at my bosses discretion if I have an appointment. I don't abuse it but it is professional.

If they do a computer system, we don't have access to one. Then we would all wait in line to log on in a public one and it wouldn't truly reflect our schedule.

I feel if you treat me like a professional, I will act like one. When you treat me like a baby, well, you finish that however you want to.

Anyway...so not looking forward to tomorrow.

After work I went to the gym and did cardio and had my trainer. It was a good work out!!

Lots of things seem to take forever, but they are worth the wait. Enjoy them.

DH works a rotating roster. 4 or 5 days on (depending on the cycle in the roster), 2 days off. If he has a 4 day cycle his shifts can be 2 morning, afternoon and evening or morning shift, afternoon or evening, 2 night shifts. If on the 5 day cycle it is morning, afternoon, evening, 2 night shifts. It is hard to keep up with at times, however, he has worked shift work all our married life so it is second nature to us.
