Online store subscription: Yay or nay?

Have you tried it? Do you have it? What do you think?

I've downloaded files from there a couple of times. But only for really off the wall things - like a vacuum cleaner and a sprint car. Most of my files come from Miss Kate's Cuttables or My Scrap Chick. I've taken kits of paper piecings and scanned them as jpg's and imported them into my Cameo.

Long answer - but if the subscription hadn't come with my Cameo I probably wouldn't have done it.

I never did, and have never missed it. I signed up for the weekly freebies at SA and I've only cut a few of them. I make my own for free.

Silhouette America, the official Silhouette site. You register with them, and they have a free cut file to download to your Silhouette Studio or Design Studio software every week. MyScrapChick is another site that offers free cut files to download every Friday when you register. It's worth doing.

Off to check out Miss Kate Cutables - thanks!

Ah she only does SVGs and PNGs. The free software doesn't do SVGs, only GSDs. They look lovely though!

I think I'm really just drawn by the convenience of it, I guess. I.E. I'm lazy and would just rather buy it than go look for one of the free files Like oh, I need a helmet, tada, here's a helmet!

I do have the upgraded software, so I can do the svgs... but I'm still kicking around the idea of getting it for a year to build up my shape library... most of which I would probably never use

It says it sends them in 3 files... you could still use the jpg like you do on a google image

I could indeed. But I could also get the shapes I need straight off the net when I need them.

I've bookmarked the page though - her designs are so lovely. Thank you!

I get the free weekly shapes and had a gift card with my machine and got another one from Siegy. So I bought a lot of shapes with that.

I really like her designs for the work project books. The grand kids like them also. Some are too juvenile/cartoony for me but there are many that I use.

I had a subscription for about a year. I had to stop b/c I need to really watching my finances very close. but I liked it. I paint, so a lot of the backgrounds I like to use as a stencil. And there are a lot of other neat things. The free item of the week, never seems to really call to me so I have actually never downloaded any of them.

I ended up getting the subscription just for ease of use... and since I had a 40% off coupon I got the BIG one, because it discounts for the whole year. It's a race to get them all downloaded before I lose the credits for the month, even with the 60 day rollover Not to mention that I haven't even stepped FOOT inside my scrapbook room in months so I'm just stocking up on random stuff

Confession: I've had this cameo for about 4 months... I've used it like twice I'm also really tempted to go back to digi. I'll probably just end up switching back and forth

How frustrating Jen. I use mine in fits and starts. Sometimes it's in constant use and other times it gathers dust. I try to use it for titles, because you can get some really gorgeous fonts, for free. I like free.
